Chemical Resistant Couplings for Drainage | VIPSealChem
Chemical resistant couplings are important where drainage pipework may come into contact with chemicals, oils, fuels or contaminated ground.
VIPSealChem FKM couplings offer a practical sealing solution for demanding drainage, industrial, laboratory and food processing applications.
In some drainage and pipework applications, a standard rubber coupling is not always the right choice.
Where pipework may come into contact with chemicals, oils, fuels or contaminated ground, the seal needs to do more than just connect two pipes. It also needs to offer strong chemical resistance and reliable sealing performance.
That is where VIPSealChem can help.

VIPSealChem is a range of flexible chemical resistant couplings manufactured from FKM synthetic rubber. FKM offers strong resistance to a wide range of chemicals, fluids and temperatures, making it suitable for more demanding drainage and industrial environments.
Chemical resistant couplings for demanding applications
VIPSealChem gives installers and contractors a flexible sealing option for low and non-pressurised drainage systems where chemical exposure may be present.
Typical applications include:
- chemical and process industries
- pharmaceutical, medical and research laboratories
- food processing plants
- breweries
- dairies
- hospitals
- badly contaminated ground
- areas at risk of fuel spillages
These environments can place greater demands on pipe seals, especially where standard materials such as EPDM, SBR or NBR may not offer the required level of resistance.
FKM chemical resistance
The key difference with VIPSealChem is the use of FKM rubber within the seal.
By using FKM rubber, VIPSealChem chemical resistant couplings help provide reliable sealing performance where standard rubber couplings may not be suitable.
For long-term service, FKM can operate at temperatures up to 200°C without major damage to the polymer structure or mechanical properties. In some short-term service conditions, FKM may also tolerate higher temperatures.
This makes VIPSealChem a practical choice where both chemical resistance and temperature performance need to be considered.
Simple installation without additional liners
Some chemical resistant sealing products use fluoropolymer FEP liners or expanded PTFE seals.

These can add extra steps to the installation process and may make the fitting more complex on site.
VIPSealChem takes a simpler approach. The chemical resistance comes from the FKM rubber used within the coupling itself. This means installers can fit VIPSealChem in the same straightforward way as other products in the VIPSeal flexible coupling range.
This helps reduce installation time and supports a more consistent seal.

Available as standard, drain and adaptor couplings
VIPSealChem is available across a selection of FKM coupling types, giving contractors more flexibility on site.
The range includes:

- FKM Standard Couplings – VSC
- FKM Drain Couplings – VDC
- FKM Adaptor Couplings – VAC
The adaptor coupling option is especially useful where pipes with different outside diameters need to be connected. In many cases, this can reduce the need for additional changes to existing pipework or prefabricated structures.
Size range from 40mm to 385mm+
The VIPSealChem range covers sizes from 40mm to 385mm+, depending on the coupling type.
This makes it suitable for a wide range of drainage, repair and industrial pipe connection applications.
VIPSealChem is designed to meet the requirements of EN681-1 WB/WD and EN295-4, supporting reliable sealing performance for above and below ground drainage applications.
A practical choice for chemical resistant pipe connections
VIPSealChem gives contractors, installers and specifiers a flexible FKM sealing solution for environments where chemical resistance matters.
Whether the application is a laboratory, processing plant, hospital, brewery, dairy or contaminated ground project, VIPSealChem offers a practical way to achieve a watertight and chemically resistant pipe connection.
